Ratation
Theme
Submitted for 'The very serious Juniper Dev game jam' with the theme being 'spin to win'. In this game the player spins, the stopwatch spins, and so does the world
How to play
You start in a hub area, and upon approaching the other rat, you're given a prompt to enter the procedurally generated sewers. Upon entering, you must fight multiple projectile based enemies, all while the world periodically flips. Upon defeating a normal enemy, hearts will drop. Upon defeating the head cult-rat (the one with the rings on his hood and the blue magic circle), you are rewarded with an ability to put in one of three ability slots (only one of which can be an activated ability). A red arrow will guide you to the nearest enemy.
Tips
- Many rooms can have exits on the top, either wait for the gravity to rotate, as it does rotate every 7.5 seconds, or dash up. The dash reset conditions are very forgiving, so your dash will reset under many circumstances like: bouncing off of anything, or jumping.
- The default SFX volume can be a bit loud and the default music volume can be a bit quiet. You can adjust the volume in the settings in the pause menu.
- The game can be very difficult in the not-primary stages. It might be necessary to retry until you get an active ability for any hope of reaching later stages.
- Being in the normal mode let's active abilities recharge three times as fast.
Controls
- WASD for movement
- Space for jumping and double-jumping
- CNTRL for switching between roll mode and normal, damage is dealt to enemies on contact in roll mode.
- S while in the air in ball mode causes a down slam dealing damage to enemies caught in it's path.
- Shift to initiate a dash, and Left Mouse Button to slingshot the player
- Right Mouse Button for using an active ability if one is equipped
- Escape for the pause menu

Looks like the executable crashes on launch. Let me know if it's a me issue. Looking forward to playing this!
Yeah windows build was doing that for some reason. I made a web build instead and it seems to work.
